The literal description of the image is a cyborg looking to the sky in hopes of finding salvation after having created something he is not sure he is okay with. He is looking for a way to salvation but is not sure that he knows how.
The picture deals with ethical and existential questions in light of human aspirations to achieve scientific supremacy even for the sake of the achievement in which man and machine become one. It is not clear what the future is, but there is always evidence of a terrible apocalypse even though my worldview does not agree with it.
The increase in the use of machines creates new tensions in which the place of man in the future world is constantly being examined and is on different paths of development. The cyborg represents the future which is an ultimate combination of man and machine as an inseparable entity.
